PRESIDENT

Andrew Garlick
Andy Garlick is CEO and Principal of The Garlick Group, a consultancy serving small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits, specializing in Cyber Security, Cyber Compliance, Digital Transformation, and Business Operations. He is also a Partner in Cyber Compliant LLC. Prior to forming his company, Andy was SVP, Business Systems, for WPP Group USA. He was responsible for the policy development and oversight of financial, HCM, and other business systems in NA for all the WPP Companies. Andy also served as the Group CIO for WPP’s SpecComm Group and WPP’s Digital Group. Andy had been involved in leading the transformation on several global initiatives including the consolidation and outsourcing of WPP’s HR, Payroll & Benefit Systems. Before that, Andy was CIO of Young & Rubicam, Inc. Andy was in the Advertising and Media industry for over 25 years, working for Campbell-Ewald in Detroit in the 80’s, and joining Young & Rubicam in 1993 as IT Director for North America. Andy spent the first half of his career in Finance, including Treasurer of the University of Detroit and Controller of Campbell-Ewald Co, where he built and installed several financial systems. Andy is also expert in the non-profit sector. In addition to the 10 years he spent as Treasurer at the University of Detroit, Andy has served on numerous boards and was instrumental in helping the United Way develop a strategic plan for the growth of technology in the nonprofit sector in 1996. For his work in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, he was recognized as an “Executive Hero” by Crain’s Detroit Business. Andy has taught at Classics at Wayne State University, accounting at the University of Michigan, Mangement at Columbia University, and is currently an Asst Professor at Felician University. In New Jersey, Andy founded The Family Support Organization of Bergen County, which provides education, support, and advocacy to parents and caregivers of children with mental, emotional, and behavioral problems. Andy is recognized as a powerful advocate for the family voice in Children’s Mental Health and has received many awards for his work. In addition to an MBA, Andy has a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Classical Literature, is both a certified PMP and HRIP, and holds a Certificate in College Business Management. from the University of Kentucky, a Certificate in Fund Raising from the Center on Philanthropy at the University of Indiana, and a Certificate in Forgiveness Therapy Training from the Forgive for Good Center affiliated with Stanford University.

Brant Bills
Brant grew up in central North Carolina and attended Davidson College. Following a career with a Fortune 25 manufacturer, a major media company and a significant investment company where he progressed to Division CFO of each, Brant rose to Principal of Thompson Bills & Associates. There he led an expanded scope of consulting projects which identified and implemented improvements affecting ownership, finances, and personnel. Brant created the affiliated B-EZ Systems, LTD, a personal leadership coaching, change management firm, and has earned the trust of hundreds of individuals with their planning for the future in uncertain times. Brant has been married for 37 years, is an active member of First Baptist Church and volunteers for many local organizations. He has also distinguished himself as a soccer referee for major league matches and has instructed international level referees and members of the US Soccer National Team.

EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Deedra Durocher
Deedra Durocher served as President of New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club from 2016 to 2017 and will now coordinate Rotary Foundation giving for the Club. She first joined Rotary as a member of the Wakefield Rotary Club in South Kingstown, Rhode Island in 1989, inducted into the club within the first year Rotary International permitted women to join as full members. During her years with Wakefield Rotary, she received her first Paul Harris Fellow recognition, was named Rotarian of the Year for 1995-96, served as Rotary Foundation Chair for five years, and chaired the Rotary’s Narragansett Fine Arts Festival for 24 years to raise funds for the club’s scholarship program. After moving to New Bern in December 2014, she joined New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club. She was presented an award for Most Outstanding New Member in June 2015 and served as the Club’s Rotary Foundation Chair for 2015-16. She has been both volunteer and staff at non-profits for much of her professional life and owned a camera store and portrait studio with her husband for 29 years. Deedra is currently employed as Volunteer & Resource Coordinator with Habitat for Humanity of Craven County. She is committed to the principles and goals of Rotary, making the 4-Way Test the basis of her daily personal and professional life.

Randy Gray
Randy Gray is a CPA Partner in a local firm. He has served as a Rotarian for 20 years, and is current treasurer of New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club. Randy’s Rotary achievements include: past President of New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club, sustaining Member of Rotary Foundation and three time Paul Harris Fellow. He has also served two years on the District Finance Committee and two years as District Conference Treasurer/Registrar.

SERGEANT AT ARMS

Robert Rigg
Robert (“Bob”) served 22 successful years in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a helicopter mechanic, crew chief, and a jet engine mechanic. As a supervisor, he held Quality Assurance billets in several areas of aircraft maintenance. In 2005, Bob received his Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Business Administration and in 2007 his 2nd Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Heating, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration. While studying Bob was also working in the logistics department at various Target, Inc. stores in Eastern N. Carolina. Bob first joined Rotary in 2009 while living in Onslow County. As a member of the Richlands Rotary Club, he attended Rotary Leadership Training in 2012 and 2014 and held the position of Assistant Sargent-at-Arms. In 2015 he became Club Vice President and became President in 2016. Bob transferred to the New Bern Club in 2017 after moving to this area. A multiple Paul Harris Fellow, he enjoys traveling, boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, participates in Craven County Veterans functions, and fundraising events, and is the current Color Guard Commander, Sons of the American Revolution, New Bern Chapter, and attends Garber Methodist Church.

Richard Goldstein
Before relocating to Eastern North Carolina Richard Goldstein was a Rotarian for more than a decade. He was fortunate to be a member of the Club that inspired his father to serve at both the local and district levels, including District Governor. Richard’s father and mother were Paul Harris society members. So it is with fond memories and great pleasure that he joined the New Bern Breakfast Rotary and has also become a Paul Harris sustaining member. Richard is an insurance broker/agent specializing in Voluntary Benefits with AFLAC and through MSIS he educates and enroll seniors in Medicare supplements and other senior products from drug plans to dental vision and hearing programs. He also advises clients on life insurance, long-term care and annuities.
